EIA Global Biographies

Albert A. Giandomenico - President
Al is the founder and president of EIA Global. Established in 1979, EIA Global is one of the leading export credit and political risk insurance brokers in the nation. The firm represents a wide variety of exporters and banks throughout the country. Export Insurance Agency is a service member of the Bankers Association for Foreign Trade (BAFT) and The National Association of Credit Managers (NACM). Prior to establishing EIA Global, Al worked at the Foreign Credit Insurance Association (FCIA) in New York. Al attended the Choate School in Wallingford, Connecticut and is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Harvard University. Al served three years on the Export-Import Bank of the United States Advisory Comm.

David A. Giandomenico
David Giandomenico joined EIA Global in 1982. He is responsible for maintaining the administrative aspects of the various insurance policies and works closely with underwriters to perfect coverages. He graduated from Harvard University in 1981 and also attended the University of Vienna in Austria. He was previously with Hartford National Bank as a credit analyst.

Donna G. Murphy
Donna joined Export Insurance Agency in 1987. She is currently the Director of Sales and Marketing for EIA Global’s U.S. sales team. She assists clients in the administration of policies. She graduated from Skidmore College in 1983 and also attended the University of Vienna Austria. Prior to joining EIA, Donna was an underwriter with Chubb Group of Insurance Companies. 

John J. Harvey
John came to EIA in 1998 with over 19 years’ experience in international banking. His responsibilities include assisting all EIA’s offices in sales and policy administration. Prior to joining EIA, John worked in structured trade finance divisions of State Street Bank, NationsBank, and First Union National Bank. He began his international banking career with Shawmut Bank. John graduated from Tufts University and holds a Masters Degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.

Bradley P. Wilson
An advisor to EIA since its inception in 1979, Brad officially joined the firm as General Counsel in 2001. His client service focus is primarily on policy structuring, alternative risk products and claims. Corporate finance, administration and management occupy his attention as well as services to EIA Global’s partners around the world. Brad began his professional career at Deloite-Touche and followed with ten years in a private law practice.  Immediately prior to joining Export Insurance Agency, he was Director of Mergers and Acquisitions for Textron, Inc. in Providence, Rhode Island.  Brad is a 1975 graduate of Harvard College and the Suffolk University and Boston University Law Schools.

Edward J. Giandomenico
Ed has been a Partner in the private law firm of Giandomenico and Giandomenico since 1982. He has been an advisor to EIA Global since 1982 and he joined the firm officially as General Counsel in 1993. His duties include all legal and licensing matters for the firm. Ed graduated from Yale University in 1978 and Boston University School of Law in 1982.

David H. Zawaski
Dave joined Export Insurance Agency in 1999 with over 18 years of experience in the credit insurance industry. His responsibilities include managing and servicing the short-term multibuyer policy portfolio at EIA’s head office. Dave comes to us from Export Import Bank of the United States where he was a Risk Manager in the Exporter Underwriting Department of the Insurance Division. Previously, Dave worked as a claims analyst and underwriter for FCIA.  He was also an export credit specialty broker for several years. Dave is a graduate of the University of Dayton.

Justin P. Goheen
Justin joined EIA in August of 1995 and, with the exception of a two year period with a privately held captive finance company, he has been with the company for the past decade. Justin is based in Indianapolis and his responsibilities include sales and marketing in the Midwestern and Eastern Regions of the US as well as support for internal planning and administration. Justin graduated from the University of Notre Dame with degrees in Finance and Computer Applications in May of 1995 and was the captain of the Fighting Irish Varsity Football team.

Paul A. Boynton
Paul joined EIA Global in January, 1997 and is based in Coppell (Dallas), Texas.  He is responsible for sales and marketing in the Southwestern United States and also responsible for marketing Political Risk products throughout the US and Canada.  Paul has been in the Trade Credit/Political Risk Insurance business for over fifteen years.  He began his career as an underwriter for the Foreign Credit Insurance Association (FCIA) then later worked in primary insurance and reinsurance capacities with Willis Faber North America and Johnson & Higgins, both in New York City.  Paul attended The University of Oklahoma, New York University, and graduated with a BA from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.  He completed several commercial lines and reinsurance accreditation courses at the College of Insurance in NYC and the Hartford Insurance Company.

Donald E. Hagen
Don Hagen joined EIA Global June, 2000 and is responsible for sales and marketing in the Western region of the United States. Don is a former banker with 22 years experience with NationsBank and Bank of America. Don served as a credit and marketing officer for American Express International Banking Corporation with assignments in New York City, Paris, Frankfurt and Hamburg. Throughout his career, Don has marketed international banking products throughout the world and has specific expertise in traditional and structured trade finance. Don has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio and a Masters of Business Administration from The George Washington University, Washington, D. C.

Laura L. Callaghan
Laura joined Export Insurance Agency in 2003. Her responsibilities include assisting EIA’s head office and branch offices in sales and policy administration. Prior to joining EIA, she worked at both Fidelity Investments and CitiStreet (a joint-venture between Citigroup and State Street Global Advisors) as the Relationship Manager of several Fortune 500 companies’ retirement plans. Laura has earned the professional designation of Certified International Credit Professional (CICP) from FCIB.  She graduated from Springfield College and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems.

Vernon H. Proll
Vern recently joined EIA Global with over eighteen years experience in risk management. He began his career with FCIA underwriting trade credit insurance in New York City and later for the Export Import Bank. Vern has been a broker in New York for 10 years prior to joining EIA. His responsibilities include servicing a book of business and generating new business. Vern has a bachelor of science from Arizona State University. He also attended Ludwigs Maximillian Universitat in Munich, Germany and worked for Hitachi Electronics in Munich.
